I Am A Statistic.....the starter wife

Women that were married for 25-35 years. They were stay at home Mom's and did not work outside the home but instead backed their husbands career and took care of their families. These women find themselves divorced.

Countless women have told me their stories of husbands that promise they will take care of them but then fake their way into bankruptcy to make it look like they cannot pay their court ordered support. This is not uncommon and the judges see these men come through the courts everyday.


These women loose their homes, dignity, children and sometimes even their lives. Everything they worked for, GONE. They are thrust into a society that only loves the young and thin. Working minimum wage jobs, they have to work long hours just to make ends meet.


Many of these women during these years of separation and divorce are diagnosed with breast cancer. These women are fighting for their lives in every way...everyday! They have no medical insurance and no money for the medication and the care that they need.

I never thought in a million years...I would be a statistic.

I have encountered feelings of extreme loss.

The loss of a dream...all that I didn't have, missed and will miss.

I won't let them drag me to their underworld again.
In other words.....
